"Hans Blei" is a 7 minute animated short film by Thomas Henseler. The
film provides us with an insight into the life of Hans Blei, a man
living a seemingly ordinary and righteous life with a wife and a job.
Yet, what he does for a living is unexpected.
In this project we combined classic animation with 3D computer animation. All characters are cartoons embedded in a virtual 3D world. Thomas Henseler consulted with Capture before he began the drawings with his team to ensure a smooth integration of all elements later on.
Capture created all the backgrounds in 3D, adding a cartoon look to objects and shading. We also performed the compositing to bring all animated elements together.
