"Dieser Weg" (This Path) is Xavier Naidoo's recent hit, leading the charts for many months. One of Germany's most successful pop stars was filmed for his new video entirely in front of a green screen. Capture Berlin created the entire world with compositing in 3D.
In the video Xavier walks through a surreal desert-like village, depicted as collages of an automated, repetitive world with infinite backgrounds. Some perspectives leave the audience uncertain about up and down, reminding on M.C. Escher's drawings of perspective illusions.
Capture was on set for supervision to make sure perspectives and lenses will match post-production. Besides a few set-decorations the entire set and environment was built in 3ds Max. The video was written and directed by Markus Gerwinat (Mousse-T.)
